FAQ Overview

1. On the website,  go to the home screen and click on My Subscriptions in the left side menu. It will reveal a Your Cards link to add a credit card to your account.  Once added, you'll easily be able to signup to any content creator subscriptions from their profile using the Offiicial Follow buttons. 
2. From the mobile app, open the side menu using the Hamburger icon and click on Subscriptions. Once the page opens click the link at the top that says Payment Cards. 

You can sign up via the Android or iOS device downloaded from the Google Play store or the App market.

Once downloaded, open the app and click on the Sign-up link at the bottom of the login form. 

• You will need to add a display name, which can be full name, business name or what you want people to see as your main name to identify you.
• Next you enter a unique username that is all one word and is alphanumeric only. 
• Then enter your email address for your account
• Next you will need to choose and enter a password for your account.
• Next you select your location. If  you allowed access to your location, the location field should populate for you. Other wise you choose your location from the drop down. This is needed because this app has location based events and search functionality which makes it eadier to find members and also be invited to events in your area. 
• Next you choose your account type. The option are Personal or Promotional. The promotional accounts are for self promotion of you or your business. These accounts stand out more and are searchable in the advanced search engine in the app. 
• Agree to terms and click Signup to create your account. 

On Android and iOS

1. Open the app and from the main screen click on the person icon in the top right hand corner. 
2. Click on the settings link in the menu.
3. Click on Account and next to "Private Account" click the switch to turn it on. 

On the website and desktop app

1. Login to your account and click on the cog wheel on the menu in the header.
2. Click on the settings tab
3. Then under Account Settings, click the switch next to "Private Account" to turn it on.

When you upload any photos, the first photo is used to set your profile photo if one has not been previously set.  You can change your default photo a couple of different ways.

Updating your profile photo from your profile on Android and iOS:

1. From the main screen/timeline, click on the person icon in the top right corner.
2. Click on the Profile link to view your profile.
3. On your profile, click on the 3 dots in the right corner for your profile menu.
4.  Click on Edit profile, then click on the image thumbnail at the top to choose a new photo.

Updating your profile photo from an album on Android and iOS:

1. Open any of your albums by clicking on the album link or thumbnail from your profile Albums tab.
2. While viewing the album, long press any photo you want to use as profile photo.
3.  When the options menu pops up, click "Set photo as profile pic"

Updating your profile photo from album browse view on Android or iOS:

1. Click on a photo from any location that leads to the full browse view (swiping left or right) of your album
2. While view the photo, click on the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner for the menu.
3. Click on "Set photo as profile pic"

1. Open the app and click the person icon in the top right corner.
2. Click on Settings and go to Change Password in the list.
3. Enter your current password
4. Then Enter a new password and confirm new password and click Change Password.

In order to retrieve your forgotten password, your registered email needs to be valid. 

1. Open the app and on the login screen click on the Forgot Password link. 
2. Enter the email address you used to join OfficialMe and click on Forgot Password button.
3. Once you receive the forgot password email, click on the link inside the email to change your password. If you don't receive the email, check your junk/spam folders and mark email as not spam if located there. 
4. Change your password once the link opens the change password screen.

Currently this is only done through the mobile app. However you can disable your account from the web.

• From the home screen tap on the account icon in the top right corner.
• Then tap the settings link and go to Account and click the Delete Account option
• You must validate your account by entering your current password. 

Note:  This will permanently delete your account and all data with it forever.  If you just wish to temporarily deactivate it, select Disable account instead from the Account menu.

• From the home screen tap on the account icon in the top right corner.
• Then tap the settings link and go to Account and click the Disable Account option

Note: This will temporarily disable your account and you will not lose any data.  This will hide your account from the other members.  If you wish to delete your account permanently, use the Delete Account option instead in the same Account settings. 

Content creators that have paid subscriptions can not deactivate their account unless they stop all billing for subscriptions. 

On OfficialMe you can take a photo from the app or upload photos from your devices storage. 

OfficialMe gives you the flexibility to capture things the way you want. You can take photos in portrait,  landscape or square. 

1. To take a photo, click on the round orange button with the + sign on the main timeline screen. 
2. Once the menu pops up, click on Post Media. Note you will have to accept permissions for the  app to access the camera functions. 
3. Use the camera button at the bottom to take a picture. 
4. The editor will open and you can use the editing tools or add Looks to your photo before posting it. 
5. On the post screen, select the album or circle you wish to put this in.  (You can create add'l albums or circles if needed here as well)
6. Add a description, place and or watermark if you wish to use these options. 
7. Then click the checkmark in the right hand corner to post it. 

On OfficialMe, you can upload multiple photos from your device storage or gallery. There is no limit. 

1. To take a photo, click on the round green button with the + sign on the main timeline screen. 
2. Once the menu pops up, click on Pick from Gallery. Note you will have to accept permissions for the  app to access the camera functions. 
3. Once opened, you can choose multiple photos to upload. You can browse by all images, videos or by folder on your device. 
4. You can choose as many photos as you'd like to upload as there is no limit set. 
5. Once the selection is done, click the checkmark in the right hand corner to go to the post screen. 
6. On the post screen, select the album or circle you wish to put these in.  (You can create add'l albums or circles if needed here as well)
7. Add a description, place and or watermark if you wish to use these options. 
8. Then click the checkmark in the right hand corner to post it. 

You are able to record using your full screen in portrait or landscape view. 

1. To record videos, click on the round green button with the + sign on the main timeline screen. 
2. Once the menu pops up, click on Shoot Video. Note you will have to accept permissions for the  app to access the camera functions. 
3. Press the red button once at the bottom to start recording.  (You do not have to hold it down)
4.  You are able to record up to 10 minutes of HD video. 
5. Once you are done click the red square button to stop. 
6. Preview the video, the press the arrow to continue to the post screen. 
7. On the post screen, select the album or circle you wish to put this in.  (You can create add'l albums or circles if needed here as well)
8. Add a description, place and or watermark if you wish to use these options. 
9. Then click the checkmark in the right hand corner to post it.

Currently you can record up to 10 minutes of HD video from your device. 

Yes, there are times you may want to only record just audio and not a full video recording. In this case, you can select Record Audio from the action menu on the main timeline screen. 

Once you select Record Audio, you will be able to record up to 60 minutes of audio. Use it to be creative such as short podcasts, singing or whatever it is you come up with. 

Yes, you can use the privacy options to allow exactly who you want to view your media.  Every album can have different privacy levels.  This allows you to give specific groups of people access to certain albums while allowing different access to other albums.

Feel free to be yourself on OfficialMe with granular controlled access. 

e.g. to allow specific users to an album using the website

• Go to my albums in creator studio. 
• Click on the album you want to update. 
• Once the album opens,  click the Edit album option.
• You will see a list of Privacy Options.
• Choose Custom and then select which followers you want to view this album. 
• Click Update Album to save the changes. 
• Now only those individuals will see updates to that album on your profile and in their timeline. 

In the mobile app the options are the same however you click on the hamburger menu in the top right corner.  Click My Albums, then click on the album you want to edit. Then choose the edit option in the top right corner menu. There you can select your privac

There are 2 ways you can move an item to another album. 

• 1.  Go to the album with the current item in it you want to move.
• Long press the item, and a menu will display. Choose Move media to album
• Click on the album you want to move it to. 
• 2.  Also if you are in the media viewer viewing this item click on the menu item in the top left corner and select Move media to album
• Click on the album you want to move it to. 

A scheduled post is to help you with posting at regular intervals without having to manually post every time. Basically you can set times for posts to appear in your timeline and journal. 

This is especially useful for creators on the go who can queue up posts ahead of time and the system will post it for you at time you specify.  This helps keep your followers or fans engaged if you don't have time to manually post everyday. 

Scheduling a post is super easy.  After you have selected or recorded the media you want to post, select the Post Date field on the post screen and choose a future date that you want your media to post.

Note: It should be at least 10 minutes or more from your current time. 

Reposts are quick easy ways to share a post or media item. When you see the  symbol on a post or media item, you can press this to share a post or media item. It will display in your fans timeline showing that you shared this by displaying the repost message on the post as shown in this example. 

Note that media in non public albums or private accounts can not be reposted. 

Promotional accounts are accounts with professional designations so you can promote yourself or your business. Anyone can create a promotional account to promote themselves. 

Note: All possible professions are not available for selection, these accounts are typically for those in the fashion, entertainment or media industry. 

For example, if you are a journalist and wished for people to see that is your profession and follow your journalism work, you can join as a Journalist account type. Then your profile and other areas will list you a journalist.  People will also be able to find you easier by searching for specific account types. 

No. OfficialMe is a free app to use and always will be. There are some creators that have exclusive content that they can choose to charge a fee to access their content.  You will only have to pay if you subscribe and become a supporter of a content creator with subscriptions.  There may be special features in the future that might require a small fee for some accounts.

In order to see other user's posts in your feed, you need to follow that user. Go to their profile and click on the follow icon/button. Then any posts they have will show in your feed on the main home screen. 

You will also get notified and see when they are live in the broadcast feed on the home screen. Note if there are no current live videos you will not see a list of live videos on the home screen. 

There is a feature on the mobile apps that allows you to take continuous photos with the built-in camera. Rather than having to select an album after each photo, it will automatically upload the photo to the album you chose for instant mode. If there is no album chosen, the system will create one for you on the first instant upload. 

While you are viewing yours or someone else's profile, click on the clock icon 

Once viewing the full journal, click on the search icon in the top right hand corder. 

Choose your date and press Ok. 

You can see total profile views and who has viewed your profile in the last 30 days.

• Go to your profile from the main screen top right person icon or by clicking on any thumbnail or link of your name.
• Click on the profile menu in the righthand corner (3 dots)
• Then in the profile menu, select Profile views

Note: If the users account is set to Anonymous browsing in account settings then they will not show up in your profile views list. However they will still count against the total amout of views received. 

• Go to the profile of the user account you want to block
• Click the profile menu (3 dots) in the righthand corner
• Then select block and confirm you want to block the user

Once blocked, they will not be able to view your media or profile and will be removed from your fan list. 

You can unblock a user account from your profile

• Go to your profile and click on profile menu ( 3 dots) in the righthand corner and click blocked users.
• Find the user to unblock and click the X to unblock.

Or you can unblock users from the account settings

• From the main timeline screen, click on the person icon in the top righthand corner.
• Select Settings, then Account and choose Blocked Users
• Find the user to unblock and click the X to unblock.

Yes, you can subscribe to individual profiles so when they post new media, you will get notified.  

• Go to the profile you want to subscribe to.
• Click on the notification icon  and it will turn green to let you know you are subscribed. 
• If you want to unsubscribe you simply press it again.

You can use simple HTML tags to do standard formatting of the text in your headline.

Supported tags are:  

Line breaks - <br /> e.g. Break the line after this sentence. <br /> Another sentence here. 

Italics - <i> e.g. I want to <i>italicize</i> this word. 

Bold  - <b> e.g. The word <b>bold</b> is now bold. 

Underline -  <u> e.g.   <u>OfficialMe</u> is awesome.

• From the main timeline screen, click on the search icon in the top header.
• In the search box at the top, type the username or display name of the person you are looking for.
• Use the filter option on the top right hand corner on the search screen to find users by other criteria.
• Invite other users to join you on OfficialMe. You can also use the Invite Friends link in the side menu main menu. 

Yes,  OfficialMe has an advanced search feature which allows you to find users by name, account type,  keywords, location and proximity based location. 

• From the main timeline screen, click on the search icon in the top header.
• Click on the filter people search icon in the right hand corner and enter information in the fields you'd like to seach by. 

Examples:

For example is you only what to search for accounts that are listed as Athletes, you would choose Model from the Account Type  field and hit search to locate all accounts listed as a Model. 

Search fields are cumalitve so you can search by one more criteria. So for example you can search for Model accounts in the United States only. 

If you want to get more pricise with the location, you can narrow it down to a city or even within a certain distance from that city.  Example you are looking for Model accounts that live within 40 miles of Dallas Te

Yes you can. OfficialMe is designed to network with individuals or promotional accounts. So to make it easier to find new people, you can search by location using the advanced search option.

Private Messages or PM's are secure messages that are sent between you and other profiles. You can use this to chat privately with other users. You are able to send pix, videos and audio to each privately and securely.

Messages sent and received are encrypted and no one else can read them.

If the user has messaging enabled (default) then you can send them a message. 

• Go to their profile and find the message icon on the screen.  
• Click on the icon and it will open the coversation screen between you and this account. 
• Then type your message and send it. You can also use the media icons to send media with it. 

You can also go to your Message center by clicking on the message icon in the top header from the main timeline screen. Then you can click on Active Conversations or go to your Contacts tab and locate the user you want to message. 

Note: Users are added to your Contacts when you follow someone

• Go to your messaging center by clicking on the message icon in the top header on the main timeline screen.
• Locate the conversation you want to delete
• Press and hold the conversation until the context menu pops up
• Then press delete conversation 

There are a few reasons why messages may not go through due to various privacy levels. 

• If the recipient has their message settings to Followers Only, and you are not following them, you will receive an error message and the message will not go through. 
• If the recipient has their message settings set to Custom, and you are not on their sender list, you will receive an error message and the message will not go through.
• If you have your message settings set to Custom, and they are not on your sender list, you will receive an error message.  They must be your fan to add them to your sender list in message settings. 
• If you are blocked by the user you will receive an error message and message will not go through.

You can go into the the Settings screen from the main menu and select Messages.

Change the option from Everyone to Followers Only or Custom.

If you select Custom, you need to add specific followers to your sender list or no one will be able to message you . 

There are several ways to share things on OfficialMe. 

Repix

• Easiest way to share a post on the main timeline is by using the repix feature. This allows you to just press the icon to the far right that looks like this. 
• It will turn green to indicate you have repixed this item. Then it will show up in the timeline of people that are your followers so they can see what you have shared.
• Note if the repix  symbol is not there, that means the user has privacy set that doesn't allow you to share this with others. 

Post Sharing

• You can send a post directly to a user by clicking on the post menu (3 dots) to the right of the repix icon. 
• Then click Share, select the users you want to share with and click the Share button.  If the user doesn't show up in the list, it's because they are not your fan. They must be your fan to share items. 
• This will send them a notification to view this post. 
• Note: If share is not available the user's privacy settings don't allow sharing with others.  

Media Sharing

• You can share individual pix, videos or audio when you are browsing through an album. 
• While in the album thumbnail view, long press the item you want to share.
• When the popup menu shows, click on the Share option. 
• Select the users you want to share with and click share to send it. 
• Note: If share is not available the user's privacy settings don't allow sharing with others.  

Private Messages

• You can send private messages to users that include attachments. So you can share pix or videos and send it directly to someone. 
• On the conversation screen of the person you want to chat with, click on the camera icon next to the input box. 
• Pick from your gallery, snap a photo or record a short video
• And send the

When you go to share something on OfficialMe using one of the sharing options, you get a list of your followers you can share with. If they are not following you, then they will not show up in the list even though you may be following them. 

If the repost option is not available on a post; it's typically because either

• That user's account is set to private
• The album that media item is in, has a non public privacy option (e.g. Followers Only)
• Or the post is part of paid subscription from a content creator

• A Repost is a re-posting of someone's media posts.  OfficialMe Reposts allows you to quickly share media posts in your timeline with other users that are your followers.
• You can notice a repost in your timeline by a post showing Reposted   proceeded by the username.

• You can see a repost of someone elses content in your OfficialMe timeline on the home screen. 

• If the owner of the post has a private account, you will not be able to Repost the posts or media.
• Currently only other users can Repost your posts or media. 

OfficialMe uses albums to allow you to customize and organize your uploads into specific groups of content. Albums can be used as a normal way to share your media or as a portfolio if you are using your profile for self promotion.  They keep your profile media easily accessible and organized for your followers. 

1st Option

• In the app, click on the person icon in the top right hand corner on the main screen. 
• Once the menu is opened, click on the My Albums link. 
• There you will see your albums and shared albums tabs.  Click on the + sign in the top right hand corner

2nd Option

• Go to your profile, by clicking on the menu icon in top right hand corner of main timeline and click profile. 
• Then on the profile page, click on the 3 dots in the top right corner to open the profile menu.
• You will see an option there that says New Album. 

3rd Option

• When you post an item, it will take you to the post screen to add details and select an album.
• Once on the post screen, click the + sign above the albums in the bottom right corner to create a new album. 

Shared albums are albums that you can set the privacy level for only certain people to view it. When you set the privacy level of an album to Custom, you will then have to choose who you want to view this album from your list of fans. 

The shared album feature allows you to be selective of which fans or people can view it. This gives you more freedom and flexiblity to be yourself when you post. 

The users of shared albums will see these posts in their timeline as normal, on your profile albums list and on the their shared albums tab. 

You can manage users any time from the Edit option in the Album menu. 

If you select Invite Only before broadcasting on the broadcast setup screen, then it will not show in your recent broadcast list as it's considered a private broadcast and can't be replayed. 

Yes, you can use a supported software such as OBS to go live from an external camera or webcam. You would need to login to the website to access a stream key from OfficialMe Creator Studio.

Photo Strips are photos  from the built-in Photo Booth feature in the mobile app.  The photo booth feature allows you to have fun with your photos and you can choose different templates for your strips. 

The photo booth mobile app feature to give you an option to have more fun with your photos. 

• Select the Photo Booth option from the green Action Menu icon on the home screen. 
• Once opened, select the layout you'd like to use for your strip.
• When you are ready,  click the green shutter button to start the countdown.  When each countdown ends for the number of items in the layout it will snap a photo.
• Once all the photos have been taken, it will show you a preview of the strip which you can keep or redo. 
• If you keep it and continue, you can add a Look to it if you want to make it different. 

Note: You can disable the automatic countdown and take each photo when you are ready by clicking on Auto at the top to disable the countdown.  You can also disable the audio beep for the countdown by clicking on the speaker icon at the

• When you join OfficialMe, you must create a promotional account choosing one of the types available. 
• Upon joining, you need to edit your profile and Bio information with what it is you are doing or going to provide.
• Upload content to begin populating your profile to give users an idea of the content you are going to provide to them.
• Apply to become a Creator from the link in the menu that says  "Get Paid".
• Once your account is set up  and verified, you will be able to start accepting subscriptions. 

OfficialMe paid creators are accounts that create or provide engaging media content for their fans. These accounts are used to generate income on paid memberships to their profiles. So as a creator, you will be able to charge a monthly fee to access your paid-only content. This allows you to make money off the work that you do and make recurring income.  

What happens if a supporter cancels their subscription?

When a supporter cancels, their auto-renewal is stopped and will not be billed for any future months to your supporter-only content. However, they will continue to have access to your supporter-only content for the remainder of the month that they have already paid for. 

Once you have been approved for a creator account through our payment provider and our internal review of your profile, you can start accepting subscriptions immediately. Just go to your creator dashboard account page and enable the billing when you're ready. 

When you apply for a creator account, we will require identity verification information. It's a quick simple process that we provided with a wizard to collect the necessary information.  

• Full Legal Name
• Mailing Address
• Valid Phone Number
• Tax Payper ID number for tax purposes.  That will vary by country.  In the US it's typically your social security number. 
• Bank account where payouts are sent

In some cases, a valid physical state ID or Drivers license might be required for further validation. You'll be notified in the creator admin if this is required during the review process. 

Note: OfficialMe does not store any of the above sensitive info on its servers or databases. The info is securely stored with Stripe our payment provider. We use secure tokens to manage and transmit data to and from Stripe. 

You will set your montly price for access to your profile media. We don't set this for you, however $3.99 USD is the minimum you can charge for your subscription fee. The max that can be set for a monthly subscription fee is $49.99 USD.

There is no fee to start a creator account.  It is free and fees will only be deducted when you start generating subscription sales. 

For personal and regular creator accounts, OfficialMe is free to use. It's a social networking platform.

OfficialMe only has fees for creators who want to monetize their content with subscriptions.  If you signed up as a creator you can apply to have tips and fan subscriptions so you can charge for monthly access to your content. 

Paid creators don't pay anything until they start earning.  We will then just take a small percentage of your subscriptions.

OfficialMe is providing the platform, features, creator support and media hosting for all creator. We do more than just provide a place to access your media stored elsewhere. You can upload your media directly to OfficialMe and have to provide a URL or 3rd party location to present your content. 

We provide features so that you can be more engaging to your subscribers such as long HD videos, Live Broadcasts, High-quality photos, audio content, Events and other special features to help keep your subscribers engaged. 

Payouts are automatically paid on the 1st day of each month.  Your first payment could take slightly longer to be deposited depending on when your pending balance becomes available. It can take 2-10 days from the time each subscription is billed before it becomes available to be paid out. 

For example, if you get 3 new subscriptions on Jan 29th, those funds typically might not be available for payout up to 10 days (usually less). So you would get paid for those on March 1st. 

 You can also do a manual payout from the payouts page in your seller dashboard

A video echo or echo is a short video that goes back and forth in a loop.  You can access the feature from the green action menu on the main home screen. 

You can click on the green action button on the home screen and click Video Echo. When you are ready,  press the shutter button and capture something that is moving. Preview your echo, add an optional caption and share it. 

Yes, you can post your echoes to your OfficialMe account, download to your gallery or save it as a GIF. 

If you only save the echo it will play back for only a few seconds outside of the app. If you save it as a GIF it will loop indefinitely since it is an animated image.

Promotional accounts can charge a subscription fee to access exclusive content, live videos and private messaging. 

Each creator chooses the subscription fee for their content. So each creator will have a different access fee. 

Currently we accept all major credit card payments for creator subscriptions. 

All creators set their subscription fees and offers. If the creator offers a free trial it will be listed on their pricing and checkout pages. 

You can cancel your subscription at any time with any creator. You can do this from your Subscription Dashboard.

Subscriptions are not prorated. When you cancel, you'll have access until the end of your billing period, which is typically the last day of the month.

Generally, subscriptions aren't prorated when you sign up. You get immediate full access to the creator's content, live videos and private messaging. Billing is on a monthly basis from the date you signed up.

If you upgrade to a higher tier plan from the same creator, there may be proration of your previous plan and your new plan but the billing cycle will remain the same. 

When am I charged for a creator subscription?

Creators/Promotional account can have optional paid memberships to some areas of their profiles.  All paid subscriptions to content creators are billed upfront on the day you become a supporter. The billing is monthly and automatically renewed on the 1st of each month. The reason you are billed immediately is because you get access to all of the creator's past and future posts including any live videos. 

For example, if you choose to become a supporter of a creator on May 25th and the creator's price is $9.99 a month, you will be charged $9.99 immediately for May and then on June 1st for June and every month after.
